Formula 1 has officially relaunched its mobile app and website, introducing a sleek redesign and an enhanced digital experience tailored to modern fans.
With a major focus on personalisation, usability, and deeper engagement, the updated platforms now function as the ultimate second screen, an essential companion for fans watching every Grand Prix unfold.
The relaunch comes at a time when fans expect more than just race commentary like they want real-time data, direct access to video content, and the ability to interact with the sport on their own terms. The updated platforms reflect that demand.
According to the official press release, the update ensures fans can showcase content from F1 TV for fans who want to watch premium live and on-demand action, as well as key telemetry and data points from the embedded Live Timing subscription service.
This integration allows fans to follow races live while simultaneously accessing real-time data such as driver positioning, sector splits, pit stop timing, tyre strategies, and more turning their phone, tablet, or desktop into a dynamic race command center.
One of the key improvements is the ability to customise the app experience according to personal fan preferences. Users are now able to select their favourite teams and drivers and receive detailed updates on their performance throughout sessions and the season.
This means fans are no longer limited to watching the general race feed, they can dig into the specifics of their preferred teams and drivers in real time, making the race experience more immersive, engaging, and tailored to individual interest.
Beyond the race data and live video, the revamped platforms also make content discovery easier than ever. The new homepage layout promotes a combination of short- and long-form videos, mobile-first story formats, and vertical video content bringing Formula 1’s media offering closer in line with digital entertainment platforms and social media best practices.
For users with an F1 TV or Live Timing subscription, the integration is smooth and responsive, bridging premium live viewing with telemetry overlays and performance data that were previously only available through separate interfaces.
One of the standout features of this relaunch is that it was developed hand-in-hand with the Formula 1 community. Fans were actively involved in the testing phase, and their input directly shaped the final product.
This fan-first approach extended beyond functionality, it also included design elements such as adaptive font sizes, light and dark mode options, and video overlays for fans who watch without sound, making the platforms accessible and enjoyable for as wide an audience as possible.
At launch, the focus is on improving how fans access breaking news, race and technical analysis, location guides.
Future updates will expand the platforms further with a broader range of content themes, alongside enhancements to the F1 Unlocked membership programme.
