The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, through Tourism Malaysia, has officially launched the Malaysia Photo Hunt 2025, a photography and video contest aimed at promoting Malaysia’s diverse attractions in the lead-up to Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).

According to Deputy Minister YB Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, Malaysia Photo Hunt 2025 is a high-impact initiative designed to creatively boost tourism promotion efforts.

“The competition encourages both local and international visitors to highlight the beauty of Malaysia through photos and videos on social media, under the theme Malaysia Welcomes the World,” he said.

Taking place from 1 June to 31 August 2025, the contest is open to Malaysians, expatriates, and international tourists. Participants are invited to snap and share moments from their travels around Malaysia using any brand of camera or smartphone.

To enter, each participant must submit a photo or video along with proof of travel such as receipts for accommodations, attraction tickets, or domestic transport bookings dated between 1 January and 31 August 2025.

Five major tech brands like Canon, Sony, Samsung, OPPO, and Huawei have come aboard as strategic partners. Entries can be submitted under the respective brand categories, while users of other devices may join the Tourism Malaysia category.

Attractive prizes await winners in all categories, including first, second, and third place, plus 20 consolation prizes.

Four grand prizes totaling RM100,000 are also up for grabs, RM15,000 for smartphone photo entries, RM25,000 for smartphone video entries, RM25,000 for camera photo entries and RM35,000 for camera video entries.

With over RM400,000 in total prizes, the competition is among the largest of its kind in Malaysia.

Entries can be submitted online at www.tourism.gov.my from 1 June to 31 August 2025. The first 2,000 participants will receive exclusive mystery gifts from Tourism Malaysia.

Winners will be announced in October 2025, followed by a special showcase featuring selected entries as part of the national campaign towards Visit Malaysia 2026.
