Sephora has launched its app in ChatGPT, allowing users to discover and shop for beauty products through a conversational experience.

The feature is currently being piloted in the United States. Users can ask for beauty advice, such as product recommendations or routines, and receive suggestions based on their preferences.

Customers who link their Sephora Beauty Insider account can get more personalised results. The app also allows access to loyalty rewards, including promotions, free shipping and product samples.

Sephora said future updates will enable users to complete purchases directly within ChatGPT.

According to the Global Chief Digital Officer at Sephora, Anca Marola, the company aims to provide beauty advice to customers wherever they are and plans to expand the feature globally.

Head of ChatGPT at OpenAI, Nick Turley, said more users are using ChatGPT to discover products and make decisions, with the Sephora app offering a more personalised way to explore beauty options.

Sephora currently has more than 80 million active members worldwide.
