Netflix has officially announced that production is underway for the highly anticipated second season of All of Us Are Dead, the Korean young adult zombie thriller that became a global sensation upon its debut in 2022.

Based on Joo Dong-geun’s acclaimed webtoon, the first season of the high-stakes survival drama catapulted into international acclaim, racking up over 560 million viewing hours in its first 28 days and breaking into Netflix’s Top 10 most-watched non-English series of all time. The show resonated with viewers worldwide, appearing in the Top 10 rankings in more than 90 countries.

Season 2 picks up years after the devastating outbreak at Hyosan High, with returning cast members Park Ji-hu (Nam On-jo), Yoon Chan-young (Lee Cheong-san), Cho Yi-hyun (Choi Nam-ra), and Lomon (Lee Su-hyeok) reprising their roles as survivors of the original infection.

The story now shifts to Seoul, where Nam On-jo, now a university student, is still haunted by the trauma and loss she endured. Her fragile new life is shattered when a fresh outbreak erupts in the capital, plunging her and a new group of characters back into the chaos of a spreading zombie apocalypse.

Joining the ensemble this season are Lee Min-jae (Weak Hero: Class 2), Kim Si-eun (Squid Game Season 2), Roh Jae-won (Squid Game Seasons 2 & 3), and Yoon Ga-i. These new characters, including Yong Ma-ru, So Ju-ran, and Lee Jong-a, form On-jo’s circle of university seniors who have carved out their own methods of survival. Roh Jae-won’s Han Du-seok, a team leader in the National Intelligence Service, is expected to bring an added layer of intrigue and authority to the storyline.

Also returning are directors Lee JQ (Daily Dose of Sunshine) and Kim Nam-su, alongside writer Chun Sung-il (King the Land), promising continuity in the series’ distinctive tone and pacing.

With the stakes higher than ever and the infection threatening new territories, All of Us Are Dead Season 2 is poised to deliver another intense, emotional, and action-packed chapter in the fight for survival.
