Samsung Electronics has shared the results of its 2024 AI survey, showing that young people in Southeast Asia are not just using AI, they’re shaping how it’s used.
According to the study, nearly 90% of youths aged 13 to 24 in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines are already using AI in their daily lives, mostly through their smartphones.
The survey reveals that AI is deeply influencing how young people learn, create, and stay informed.
Samsung’s regional CEO, CU Kim, said the findings reflect how this generation believes in AI’s power to shape careers and make a positive difference in society. Samsung has long focused on helping young people grow through technology and education.
AI is now part of daily life for many youths. Mobile phones, especially, are the main tools they use to access AI.

Samsung is supporting this trend by adding smart features like Galaxy AI into its new devices like the Galaxy S25 series, which improve communication, creativity, and productivity, while also keeping personal data safe with features like Personal Data Engine.
To make AI more accessible, Samsung is also adding smart features to more affordable phones like the Galaxy A56 5G, A36 5G, and A26 5G. Tools like Circle to Search and Math Solver in Samsung Notes are helping students learn in fun and interactive ways.
When it comes to what influences their views on AI, most youths said social media plays the biggest role, followed by tech companies and then friends or family.
This shows how important it is for everyone including tech companies, schools, and parents to work together in guiding youth to use AI responsibly.
Samsung is also committed to protecting users’ privacy, with features like Knox Vault that keep personal data safe. The company wants to give youths the confidence to explore AI without worrying about their privacy.
