As Singapore marks its 60th year of independence in 2025, the National Day Parade (NDP) is set to take on a more inclusive and immersive approach to national celebrations.

NDP 2025 will not only present a spectacular show on 9 August, but also transform the entire Marina Bay area into a vibrant hub of activity, drawing people together from all walks of life.

One of the key highlights of this expanded celebration is the Bay Discovery Trail, a special initiative designed to bring Singaporeans on a journey through the nation’s rich heritage, cultural diversity, and inclusive values.

Held on both 2 and 9 August 2025, the Bay Discovery Trail is an interactive experience that will connect three thematic zones around Marina Bay. Each zone will be thoughtfully curated to showcase the heart of Singapore’s identity: multiculturalism, the spirit of togetherness, and the stories that have shaped our progress.

Through hands-on booths, educational exhibits, and experiential activities, visitors can engage with the stories of different communities, learn about the nation’s shared values, and even participate in creative workshops that reflect Singapore’s evolution over the past 60 years.

The trail is designed not just as a sightseeing activity, but as a participatory experience that encourages reflection, learning, and bonding.

Families, friends, and individuals will have the opportunity to explore these zones at their own pace. To further enhance the experience, the first 5,000 participants who complete the trail on each day will be rewarded with an NDP Pack which is a popular collector’s item filled with commemorative goodies.

But the Bay Discovery Trail is only part of what makes the atmosphere so special. Adding to the festive mood are performances by homegrown talents such as 11-year-old violin prodigy Anastasha Suchin and vocal group Vocalist Insight from the Singapore Institute of Technology. Their performances will bring life to the Bay, reminding Singaporeans of the creative talents that thrive within our community.

Meanwhile, the celebrations around the Trail will be complemented by a vibrant food market featuring local cuisine from all cultural backgrounds like Chinese, Malay, Indian, Eurasian, and more.

It’s a culinary showcase of the diversity that defines Singapore. Families can also relive their childhood memories at the Uncle Ringo carnival, complete with nostalgic games, classic rides, and funfair snacks that promise entertainment for all ages.

What makes NDP 2025 truly unique is how it brings celebration into the public space turning the Bay into a giant, open-air festival ground where everyone is welcome.

The Bay Discovery Trail reflects the heart of this year’s theme: creating shared experiences that strengthen community bonds, celebrate national pride, and honour the progress of a small but strong nation.

As Singapore steps into its next chapter, NDP 2025 invites all citizens and residents to not just be spectators of the nation’s story, but active participants in its journey. Through experiences like the Bay Discovery Trail, the National Day celebration becomes more than just a parade it becomes a national movement to reflect and reconnect.
