The fully electric MINI Cooper has been named “Best in Class for Safest City & Supermini of the Year 2025” at the Euro New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) Best in Class Awards.

The award follows the model’s five-star safety rating in Euro NCAP crash tests completed in March 2025 and places the MINI Cooper Electric at the top of its segment for overall safety performance.

The recognition applies to all three variants, the MINI Cooper E, MINI Cooper SE and MINI John Cooper Works Electric.

Euro NCAP cited strong results across multiple assessment areas, including occupant protection, child safety, pedestrian protection and safety assist technologies.

In the 2025 crash tests, the MINI Cooper Electric recorded an 89% score for adult occupant protection, 87% for child safety, 79% for safety assist systems, and 77% for pedestrian and cyclist protection, among the highest scores in its class.

The vehicle comes equipped with a comprehensive range of standard safety features, including pelvic seatbelt pretensioners and a suite of driver assistance systems designed to reduce accident risk in urban environments.

BMW Group said the award reinforces MINI’s focus on safety alongside electric mobility and urban driving performance.

The MINI Cooper Electric joins other MINI models, including the Countryman and Aceman, which have also received top safety ratings from Euro NCAP.
