Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), through Malaysia Airlines and Firefly, will operate over 2,700 domestic flights during the Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri travel period.
Malaysia Airlines will run up to 1,557 flights, while Firefly will operate up to 1,176 flights across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.
The extra flights aim to help Malaysians return home and reunite with family for the festive season.
To handle high demand, Malaysia Airlines will use larger aircraft on busy routes such as Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, Terengganu, Miri, Sibu, Kuching, Tawau, Sandakan, and Kota Kinabalu. Red-eye flights will also be added to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, and Kuching.
Both airlines are offering fixed all-in one-way fares for selected East Malaysia routes:
Malaysia Airlines: From RM339 (Sarawak) and RM399 (Sabah)
Firefly: From RM298 (Sarawak) and RM348 (Sabah)
Tickets are available until 29 March 2026 for travel between 17 and 29 March 2026 via official websites and mobile apps.
In support of the government’s festive travel initiative, fares will also be capped on selected routes:
Malaysia Airlines: Up to RM569 (one-way)
Firefly: Up to RM548 (one-way) (for travel between 17 and 20 March 2026)
MAG said the initiative is part of its commitment to connect families across Malaysia during the festive season.
