Jordan Brand has officially announced the return of The One, a global one-on-one basketball tournament that brings together the world’s most talented young hoopers.

Now in its second year, the competition offers a platform for male and female athletes aged 15 to 18 to showcase their skills on a global stage.

The tournament kicks off this month with regional qualifiers set to take place in over 15 cities worldwide, including London, Beijing, Los Angeles, Manila, Paris, and Tokyo.

The first qualifier will be held on May 24 in London as part of the Hoopsfix All Star Classic weekend.

Finalists from the boys’ and girls’ categories will earn an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City in August, where they will compete in the finals for the prestigious title of The One. Winners will be named Jordan Brand ambassadors which means a significant milestone for any rising basketball star.

In total, 20 athletes will advance to New York after qualifying rounds across cities such as Belgrade, Chicago, Hong Kong, and Ljubljana.

Upon arrival, participants will go through play-in rounds before progressing to the knockout stage. The finals will be streamed live globally.

The event will also feature a one-on-one DJ battle, bringing together top talents in music to celebrate basketball culture in the city that gave rise to the game.

The tournament is inspired by the roots of the Jordan legacy, particularly the legendary backyard one-on-one battles between Michael Jordan and his older brother Larry.

Last year’s inaugural edition, held in Paris, saw Tatianna Griffin from Los Angeles and Steve Bah from Paris crowned as champions.
