IKEA has introduced two new floor lamps, MOSSPLYM and TRÅDNATE, as part of its ongoing collaboration with Italian designer Raffaella Mangiarotti.
According to the company, the designs incorporate materials such as Italian Carrara marble, solid oak, steel, and metal finishes including brass and nickel.
The products are positioned as durable lighting solutions that also function as furniture within a space.
MOSSPLYM features a slim structure supported by a marble base, with a combination of a main light and a smaller adjustable reading light. The lamp uses layered glass shades to produce both ambient and focused lighting .
TRÅDNATE takes a more architectural approach, with two parallel supports and opposing light directions. One shade provides general illumination, while the other can be adjusted for task lighting. The design is anchored by a heavy base and finished with metal detailing .
Both lamps are based on a dual-light concept, combining uplight and task lighting in a single product. The designs aim to integrate multiple lighting functions without separating them into distinct elements.
The collaboration also reflects a broader shift in IKEA’s lighting direction, which combines Scandinavian design principles with a more contemporary international approach .
Mangiarotti, who is based in Milan, has received more than 40 international design awards. Her previous work with IKEA, including the BÄCKNATE collection, was nominated for the Compasso d’Oro design award .
The new lamps will be showcased during Milan Design Week 2026 at Spazio Maiocchi from 21 to 26 April. Availability and pricing will vary depending on the market .
IKEA stated that the collaboration with Mangiarotti is ongoing, with additional lighting products currently in development.
