Global networking giant Cisco has announced a series of major innovations in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, aimed at making AI deployment faster, more secure, and easier to manage for businesses and service providers.
Strengthening its position in the AI landscape, Cisco is partnering with NVIDIA, a leader in graphic processing technologies, and several next-generation infrastructure providers known as NeoCloud companies.
These collaborations support the increasing demand for AI applications across industries, enabling organizations to scale their data centers efficiently and securely.
Cisco introduced a suite of new technologies that combine powerful hardware, simplified management tools, and industry-leading security solutions.
One of the highlights is the Unified Nexus Dashboard, which allows companies to manage their entire network infrastructure including LAN, SAN, and AI/ML environments through a single interface. This significantly reduces complexity and improves operational efficiency.
In a key technical milestone, Cisco and NVIDIA demonstrated the first successful integration of NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet using Cisco’s Silicon One chip. This combination delivers faster, low-latency AI networking that is also energy-efficient.
Cisco also introduced Intelligent Packet Flow, a system that dynamically routes AI data traffic based on real-time congestion, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Security is another major focus. Cisco introduced AI Defense and Hypershield, technologies designed to protect every stage of AI development and deployment particularly those built using open-source AI models.
These security tools are now part of NVIDIA’s validated enterprise AI architecture, making Cisco one of its key strategic infrastructure partners.
To support demanding AI workloads, Cisco announced new AI PODs and server configurations compatible with the latest NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs. These setups allow companies to train and fine-tune AI models more efficiently, as part of the broader Cisco Secure AI Factory with NVIDIA framework.
Cisco also highlighted innovations in non-terrestrial networking, integrating satellite and traditional internet infrastructure. This enables new opportunities for industries like maritime, aviation, IoT, and emergency response in underserved or remote regions.
The company surpassed its FY25 goal of $1 billion in AI infrastructure orders from hyperscale customers, achieving the milestone one quarter ahead of schedule.
With these latest offerings, Cisco reinforces its leadership in building future-ready digital infrastructure enabling enterprises, cloud providers, and governments around the world to embrace AI with confidence.
