Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) is offering fixed fares and additional flights between Kuala Lumpur and East Malaysia to support increased travel demand during the Chinese New Year period.
Through Malaysia Airlines, all-in one-way fixed fares start from RM339 to Sarawak and RM399 to Sabah. Tickets are available for purchase from 20 January to 23 February 2026, for travel between 11 and 23 February 2026, exclusively via the airline’s official website and mobile app.
Firefly is also offering fixed fares, with one-way all-in prices starting from RM298 to Sarawak and RM348 to Sabah. Tickets can be purchased from 20 January to 22 February 2026, for travel between 11 and 23 February 2026.
Passengers travelling with Malaysia Airlines and Firefly will continue to receive complimentary checked baggage and in-flight refreshments.
Selected fare families include flexible flight change options. Firefly operates flights from both Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) Terminal 1 and Subang Airport (SZB), while Malaysia Airlines passengers benefit from through-checked baggage and included meals on connecting flights.
Both airlines are participating in the Malaysian Government’s Chinese New Year airfare subsidy initiative.
For travel between 13 and 16 February 2026, base fares on flights from Kuala Lumpur to East Malaysia will be capped at RM569 all-in one-way for Malaysia Airlines Economy Class and RM548 all-in one-way for Firefly.
To further increase capacity, Malaysia Airlines will operate up to 32 additional red-eye flights from KUL Terminal 1 to East Malaysia during the festive period.
These flights will serve destinations in Sabah, including Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau, as well as Kuching, Bintulu, Sibu and Miri in Sarawak, and Labuan.
During this period, Malaysia Airlines will operate up to 503 weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and East Malaysia.
Combined with Firefly services, MAG will provide more than 578 weekly flights, aimed at improving connectivity and ensuring smoother travel for Malaysians returning home for Chinese New Year.
