According to the Axiata Group Berhad press release on 28 March 2025, Axiata Group Berhad has appointed Patrick Forth as an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED), effective immediately.
The move is seen as part of the company’s strategy to strengthen leadership in digital technology and accelerate its transition from a telecommunications company to a technology company (Telco-to-TechCo).
Patrick’s appointment brings expertise in digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and the global telecommunications industry. He currently works as a Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and previously led the firm’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) practice.
According to Axiata, the appointment aims to strengthen the company’s ability to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving industry, especially in leveraging technologies such as AI and digital automation.
Axiata believes that with Patrick’s experience in managing organizational change across multiple markets, he will be able to bring a fresh perspective that is essential in driving growth and enhancing the company’s competitiveness.
