Apple has secured six nominations at the 98th Academy Awards in the global film industry.

The nominations were announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on January 22, with Apple Original Film F1 receiving a Best Picture nod, one of the most prestigious categories at the Oscars.

F1, which has been described as the highest-grossing sports feature film of all time, also earned nominations for Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, and Best Editing.

The film, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Joseph Kosinski, stars Brad Pitt and is set in the high-stakes world of Formula 1 racing.

Its technical achievements and large-scale production were widely credited for driving its strong awards performance.

Apple also received recognition in the documentary category, with Come See Me in the Good Light nominated for Best Documentary Feature Film.

The documentary follows poets Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley as they navigate life, love, and creativity in the face of an incurable cancer diagnosis.

Another Apple Original Film, The Lost Bus, was nominated for Best Visual Effects. Directed by Paul Greengrass and inspired by real events, the film portrays a dramatic rescue during one of the deadliest wildfires in US history, starring Matthew McConaughey and America Ferrera.

The latest Oscar nominations build on Apple’s recent awards momentum. In previous years, Apple made history when CODA became the first streaming film to win Best Picture, while other Apple Originals have earned major wins and nominations across the Oscars, Emmys, and Golden Globes.
