Amazon is introducing two new credit cards for small businesses, which means higher cashback rewards and more control over business spending.
The new Prime Business Card and Amazon Business Card will be issued by U.S. Bank and operate on the Mastercard network. The cards are expected to be available in the United States starting this spring.
Businesses can choose between two options based on their needs. The Prime Business Card offers 5% cashback on Amazon purchases for Prime members, while the Amazon Business Card offers 3% cashback for non-Prime users.
Both cards also provide rewards for purchases made outside Amazon, along with flexible payment terms and no annual fees.
The cards are designed to support everyday business expenses. Small businesses can use them for purchasing supplies, managing operational costs and tracking spending in one place.
The system is integrated with Amazon Business tools, allowing users to monitor transactions, control budgets and improve purchasing decisions.
According to Amazon, small businesses have been looking for more ways to earn rewards across different types of spending while maintaining better cash flow management. The new cards are built to meet these needs.
The partnership with U.S. Bank and Mastercard also expands the financial services available to small businesses. U.S. Bank will provide banking support and payment solutions, while Mastercard will enable global acceptance and transaction security across its network.
Small businesses will continue to use their existing American Express-issued Amazon Business cards during the transition.
Amazon said customers will receive further updates on the migration process and details of the new benefits.
Amazon Business has grown into a major platform for companies of all sizes. The service currently supports more than eight million organisations globally and generates over US$35 billion in annualised sales.
It is used by a wide range of businesses, from small enterprises to large corporations, for purchasing products across categories such as office supplies, IT equipment and food services.
The introduction of the new credit cards adds to Amazon’s existing tools for business customers. The company continues to expand its financial and digital solutions to support business operations and purchasing needs.
