Air Lease has delivered a new Boeing 737-8 aircraft to Air Canada as part of a long-term lease agreement signed between the two companies in 2023.
The aircraft is the first of five Boeing 737-8 jets scheduled to be delivered to Air Canada in 2026. It was delivered from Air Lease’s existing orderbook and will be incorporated into the airline’s narrowbody fleet.
According to Air Lease, the remaining four aircraft under the agreement are expected to be delivered later this year.
The Boeing 737-8 is part of Boeing’s latest generation of single-aisle aircraft, improved fuel efficiency and range compared to older models.
Air Lease Chief Executive Officer and President John L. Plueger said the delivery continues the company’s long-standing partnership with Air Canada and supports the airline’s fleet renewal plans.
The aircraft will join Air Canada’s growing fleet of modern aircraft used for domestic, regional, and international routes.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Air Lease is one of the world’s leading aircraft leasing companies, providing leasing and financing solutions to airlines across the globe.
The company focuses on purchasing new commercial aircraft directly from manufacturers and placing them with airline customers through long-term leases.
