According to the Panasonic Press Release on 7 April 2025, Panasonic Connect Co., Ltd. will be presenting a variety of advanced technology solutions including biometric facial recognition and AI systems to support the smooth running and security of Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
Among the key innovations highlighted is a facial recognition system to manage the entry and exit of workers at the Expo construction site. This technology has been successfully used over three million times and helps save up to six times the manpower compared to traditional card entry systems.

The system also works in detecting faces even when the users are wearing face masks or safety hats since it's very important in a busy construction environment.
During the Expo, Panasonic is collaborating with Dai Nippon Printing to introduce an entry system using facial recognition and QR codes to manage over 100,000 individuals involved in the event.

Also introduced was the “KAIROS” remote broadcasting system, which allows broadcast content to be produced in real-time through NTT IOWN’s high-speed network making it easier for broadcasters to operate coverage as if they were at the expo site.
Panasonic also unveiled its "Acrosign” digital signage system to deliver information to bus passengers at the Yumeshima Terminal, along with the “ITS Smart Pole,” which aids autonomous bus operations by supplying real-time sensor data.

More interestingly, 130 Osaka Metro stations are now equipped with facial recognition entrances that allow users to pass through the doors without having to stop, making it one of the most user-friendly transportation systems in Japan.
Expo 2025 Osaka is scheduled to take place from 13 April to 13 October 2025, bringing together countries and companies from around the world to showcase ideas, innovations and solutions towards a better world.
